Rule34dle compares indexed post totals for character tags and, when enabled, franchise tags. The checked Build 1.9 roster contains 1,897 playable entries: 1,637 entries treated as characters or non-franchises and 260 marked as franchises. Every entry also has a non-AI total for the AI-exclusion setting.
Roster index at a glance
These are a dated roster snapshot, not a promise that every total will stay fixed. Counts can rise and the game can refresh its data.

Understand counts →Classification follows the game data
The roster’s franchise flag controls which switch includes an entry. A broad-looking name may still be stored in the non-franchise pool. Treat the in-game classification as the rule for a matchup instead of guessing from the wording of a tag.
Use rankings as landmarks
A short ranking is most useful for learning scale: huge franchises, standout characters, established favorites, and niche entries. It is not an answer sheet. Daily and Endless boards draw different pairings, and the non-AI filter can narrow or reverse close gaps.
